Castel Sant’Angelo, Rome Italy

The Castel Sant’Angelo
Emperor Hadrian designed this tomb in around 123 AD.
Later it was fortified and became a refuge for the Popes. A viaduct connects the Castle to the Vatican and has allowed the Popes to retreat to safety in times of danger.
