This visit to Florence I booked the Villa Tolomei Hotel and Resort. Using Expedia I researched my hotel options ahead of my trip and the Tolomei listed a 5 star rating with excellent guest reviews at a very reasonable price.

People ask me how I find my hotels while traveling and I tell them almost always I use Expedia. It’s easy and very accurate.

The Hotel is grand. A long driveway lined with cypress trees leads you up to the main building seen here.

The Tolomei consists of several buildings all connected via long halls and beautifully furnished rooms. Here you get a sense for just how large the Tolomei is. The Tolomei sits in the hills of Florence and is surrounded by beautiful Tuscan landscape.

The hotel sits in the hills of Florence so you will need to take taxis to and from the city. For $7 each way the ride is only 5 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio. For this visit I had my rental car but chose to take taxis into town. The parking in Florence can be a challenge and costly. Here at the hotel parking is free so it more than offsets the cost of taxi fares.
