Every trip to Mexico City must include a visit to this beautiful museum. On display in several wings of the museum is many centuries of pre-Mexican art and history all displayed in one of the most modern and clean museums I have visited.
In a large centralized courtyard water flows from a 3 story tall fountain and disappears into the ground. On a warm day this water feature cools the courtyard temperatures and soothes with the sound of running water.

On display throughout the museum is Mexico’s rich Indian cultural history that includes artifacts from the Mayans, Aztecs, Toltecs, and other civilizations that inhabited Mexico.

The National Museum of Anthropology is the largest museum in Latin America. Be sure to give yourself several hours so you can take your time and enjoy all of the areas of the museum.

The museum is in the famous Bosque de Chapultepec. Chapultepec is a large central park Mexico City that has been an important area of the region since the time of the Aztecs.
