The Bars of White Bay, Jost Van Dyke British Virgin Islands

White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is famous for it’s beautiful white sandy beach and it’s bars. There are no docks in the bay so every boat has to anchor off shore and let everyone swim up to shore. Thus the name of the most famous of the bars, “Soggy Dollar Bar”. The Soggy Dollar Bar gets all the press but try the others along shore and you won’t be disappointed. In fact, I prefer the other bars to Soggy Dollar!
Everyone has a story of how they came to call Jost Van Dyke home.

It’s fun to frequent all the bars along the bay. Each has its own special character and charm. Some of the items that have washed up over the years are on display. Island Treasure!

You never get tired of this view. Check out the Soggy Dollar Bar live web cam to see this view live online.
I’m glad this one isn’t still out there swimming around. Looks like these jaws came from a big tiger shark.
