Lunch at NOLA Smokehouse – New Orleans

In New Orleans I visited the NOLA Smokehouse for a late lunch and ordered the smokehouse platter. Yes, it is as good as it looks. Six different meats that included pulled pork, beef ribs, brisket, burnt tips, and two kinds of sausage. The side dishes were fantastic also, especially the sweet corn spoon bread. Two kinds of barbecue sauce are on the table, sweet and spicy, as well as a vinegar, and this makes for great flavors that compliment the meat. I didn’t want to stop eating!
NOLA Smokehouse is located close to the New Orleans Garden District and is worth the visit if you are looking for a casual dining experience and excellent food. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful in describing the menu options. This was by far the best meal I had on this trip to New Orleans and if you make time to try NOLA’s you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to go back!
