The Jockey of Artemision – National Archaeological Museum – Athens

This beautiful statue of a boy riding a horse is one of the best preserved bronze statues on display here at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. Most large bronze statues were melted down over the centuries but this one, known as The Jockey of Artemision, dates back to 150BC and survived after being found in a shipwreck.
