The Ponte Vecchio – Florence

The Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), is one of the most famous landmarks of Florence Italy. The bridge spans the Arno river and houses many jewelry shops and other shops of interest.
Believed to be first built in Roman times the bridge has been rebuilt over the centuries because of floods.
The Ponte Vecchio is a great place to get oriented with Florence. On one side just steps away is the Uffitizi Museum and across to the other side is great restaurants, shopping, and famous sites as well.

I took this photo from high atop in the Uffitizi Museum. It’s one of my favorite views of this beautiful bridge.
