When I visit Italy I prefer to rent my own car and make the drive through Tuscany. Being able to get off the main highways and take the country roads gives you the freedom to explore the beautiful Tuscan hills.

Here a traditional Tuscan villa is surrounded by olive orchards and other fruit trees.

Olive trees and grape vines fill the rolling hills of Tuscany.

In the fall the grape vines put on a show.

Soon the grape leaves will be gone but until then the reds and yellows add beautiful color to the already beautiful views of the Tuscan hill sides.
