Chocolateria San Gines has been serving up hot chocolate with churros since 1894 in the heart of Madrid and should be on everyone’s list of places to visit and eat when visiting this beautiful city. In fact, I went two times during this stay! Located just a few minutes from the Puerto del Sol, Chocolateria San Gines is open every day serving the best hot chocolate and churros you will ever have eaten. They serve two sizes of churros so be sure to ask for both! My favorite is the large churro… Be prepared to wait in line for a few minutes as the it gets a little crowded in the evening hours, but it’s worth the wait. Just walk up, order, take your receipt to a table and present it to a waiter. In a moment you are served delicious hot chocolate and churros.
