Who’s thirsty?
All over Italy are water fountains that continuously run clean, fresh, great tasting water. You may have noticed them. The Italians call them “Nasone”, the big nose. You can see how the name stuck!
On a hot day in Rome you can find these fountains in almost every large piazza. So never drink from the large sculpted fountains such as Trevi, always look for the big nose. Locals stop to fill water bottles or simply to get a drink for themselves as well as their dogs. Many times I have witnessed tourists drinking from the fountains by bending over to get their mouth to the water, but this is the hard way and in my short video below I demonstrate the proper and easy way to quench your thirst from these brilliantly engineered little fountains.
