Musei Capitolini – Rome
Bigfoot does exist! Rome has many wonderful museums scattered around the city but there are three that everyone must see. The Vatican of course, The Borghese Gallery, and the Musei Capitolini (Capitoline Museum). This is one of my favorites in Rome, if not the entire world. The museum sits on top of a hill overContinue reading “Musei Capitolini – Rome”
A Day in Pompeii, Italy
Around 79AD the ancient city of Pompeii was destroyed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The eruption was so violent that the entire city and it’s over 20,000 inhabitants was lost forever. Buried under 13-20 feet of volcanic ash much of the city structures were preserved allowing modern day archeologists to uncover and gainContinue reading “A Day in Pompeii, Italy”
The Street Cars of Lisbon
Lisbon Portugal has many charms but one iconic piece of it’s culture is the famous Street Cars of Lisbon. The city reminds me very much of San Francisco in terms of its geography and the street cars or trolleys that traverse the city. In fact, Lisbon even has a bridge designed after the GoldenContinue reading “The Street Cars of Lisbon”

Ramiro opened in the 1950’s and has remained a LisbonContinue reading “Dinner at Cervejaria Ramiro – Lisbon”

Calle Cava Baja – A Street In Madrid For Tapas
One of my favorite spots for tapas and drinks in Madrid is along the Calle Cava Baja. Located just a short walk from Plaza Mayor and the San Miguel Market the Calle Cava Baja is lined with dozens of tapas bars all serving great food, drink, and ambience. The prices of the bars along CalleContinue reading “Calle Cava Baja – A Street In Madrid For Tapas”
Castellina in Chianti – Tuscany
Castellina is a small Tuscan town of about 3,000 people and is located in the Chianti hilltops about 15 kilometers north of Siena. This is one of those charming little towns that doesn’t get much attention from tourists because the only way to get there is by car, which is one of the reasons IContinue reading “Castellina in Chianti – Tuscany”
The Reina Sophia Museum – Madrid
Madrid has two well known museums, The Prado Museum, and a lessor known but very interesting Reina Sophia Museum. I have been to the Prado on a previous trip to Madrid and this visit I made time to see the Reina Sophia. It’s a modern art museum with works of Picasso as well as others.Continue reading “The Reina Sophia Museum – Madrid”
